CR Capital Mgmt's "Harbor" Volunteer Team Conducts Shoreline Cleanup
Released:2023-01-06

Marine litter is becoming increasingly widespread and serious worldwide. Every year, millions of metric tons of trash are thrown into the ocean, invading the homes of countless marine creatures. CR Capital Management has actively responded to the call for marine conservation by the HKSAR Government's Interdepartmental Working Group on Marine Environmental Management. The Company is committed to environmental protection and its ESG responsibilities. Recently, CR Capital Management arranged for a volunteer team of approximately 20 members to clean up litter along the shore of Sha Wan in the Southern District of Hong Kong Island.

The cool December sea breeze washed over the enthusiastic volunteers. This activity went on for more than 2 hours. Divided into three groups, the team members worked together to pick up more than 30 kilograms of garbage along the one-kilometer-long coastline of Sha Wan. The garbage cleaned up was mostly plastic bags, foam packaging materials, beverage bottles and cans, food packages, and other hazardous materials that are difficult to degrade in the natural environment.

The volunteer team members who participated in this activity felt that their power was insignificant in front of the millions of tons of trash that pollute the oceans every year. They witnessed the current situation of coastal pollution during this activity. Now, they understand more clearly how urgent it is to protect our marine environment and care for our planet's ecosystem. In the future, we will strengthen our awareness of being "masters of the planet" and proactively fulfill and advocate our obligations to protect ecological environment.

Approximately 20 volunteers from CR Capital Management's Finance Department, Risk Management Department, and Legal Compliance Department participated in this activity. The "Harbor" volunteer team is looking forward to working with more colleagues in Hong Kong on public welfare activities. We can build a better Hong Kong together!

Many thanks to the volunteers who participated in this activity:
