People are busy picking up mugwort and cattail, using colorful threadlet to make zongzi. To inherit Chinese culture and promote patriotism, the Labor Union of CR Capital Management and Shenzhen Branch of China Merchants Bank jointly held a Dragon Boat Festival family event for cultural activities.
Under the organization of the Labor Union of CR Capital Management "Life and Home" Alliance and the teams of Shenzhen Branch of China Merchants Bank, the children participated in firstly learned about the origin of the Dragon Boat Festival, and played a fun game about the Dragon Boat Festival knowledge quiz. While remembering the patriotic poet Qu Yuan, the children deepened their cognition of the Dragon Boat Festival customs.
Then, the participants took the family as a unit to take part in the "Zongzi Making Contest" under the guidance of professional coaches. They learned and made different flavors of zongzi, such as mung bean zongzi with rock sugar, sago crystal candied jujube zongzi, and four-corner salty zongzi. Children and their parents folded reed leaves, filled glutinous rice, and wrapped the rice with leaves together. Everyone was practicing and learning, which not only improved the children's hands-on ability, but also stimulated the children's interest in traditional Chinese culture.
Finally, Mr. Wang Jianqiang, deputy general manager of the company, presented souvenirs to the children who successfully completed the competition. There were continuous laughter and cheerful voices during the event. Through the practical activity of learning through play, the children felt the charm of Chinese culture and traditional festivals more truly.
