On December 2nd, the first annual ceremony of the China ESG Models Campaign by China Media Group (CMG) took place in Beijing. CR Group was selected as one of the top 10 China ESG Model enterprises. CR Group’s Chairman Wang Xiangming attended the event and accepted the award on behalf of the Group.
In recent years, ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) has increasingly become a globally recognized framework for evaluating corporate sustainable development and social responsibility. CMG, in collaboration with authoritative institutions such as the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council (SASAC), All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce (ACFIC), the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS), and China Enterprise Reform and Development Society (CERDS), have initiated a series of activities under the China ESG Models Campaign. By establishing China’s ESG evaluation standards that align with international practices while considering its realities, the campaign has introduced ESG-related indicators for Chinese enterprises, released ESG-themed reports, and unveiled relevant rankings.
As the year-end event of this campaign, the annual ceremony for China ESG Models was themed on “navigating a sustainable future with responsible examples,” showcasing outstanding practice of Chinese ESG model companies. The focus was on leveraging the influence of these responsible examples to lead Chinese enterprises in enhancing their sustainable development capabilities.
CR has consistently attached great importance to ESG initiatives. All of its wholly-owned subsidiaries have published ESG/Social Responsibility reports. Moreover, in the Research Report on ESG of Listed Companies Controlled by Central Enterprises (2023), a total of eight enterprises under CR Group were ranked among the “100 Pioneering Central Enterprises of ESG Reporting.” They are CR Power, CR Land, CR Medical, CR Cement, CR Gas, CR Pharmaceutical, CR Mixc Lifestyle, and CR Sanjiu Medical & Pharmaceutical, making CR Group the central enterprise with the most selected companies.
In the aspect of E (Environment), the Group continuously enhances its capabilities in low-carbon and sustainable development. It further strengthens organizational development and formulates plans that align with carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals, promotes ongoing optimization and adjustment of industrial structure, advances the transformation and development of energy structure, creates exemplary low-carbon and zero-carbon projects, and actively engages in technological innovation to achieve carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals. In the aspect of S (Social), the Group actively serves society and improves people's livelihoods. It takes the lead in braving major challenges such as ensuring energy supply, stabilizing prices, and disaster response. The Group actively fulfills its responsibilities in practical areas such as stabling employment, rural revitalization, and social welfare. In the aspect of G (Governance), the Group continually perfects its modern corporate governance system, systematically advances the progress of corporate governance, and promotes corporate reform and development.
