The Democratic Alliance for the Betterment and Progress of Hong Kong (DAB), the New Territories Association of Societies (NTAS), the Hong Kong Importers' & Exporters' Association, and CR Capital Management and its subsidiary Runnovation jointly organized a face-to-face meeting on September 28 for Mr. Paul Lam Ting-kwok (Secretary for Justice of the HKSAR Government) and Mr. Horace Cheung Kwok-kwan (Deputy Secretary for Justice) to exchange ideas with leaders from all walks of life in Hong Kong. Participants exchanged their views on the Mainland Judgments in Civil and Commercial Matters (Reciprocal Enforcement) Bill and the Arrangement on Reciprocal Recognition and Enforcement of Judgments in Civil and Commercial Matters in the Chinese Mainland.

More than one hundred distinguished guests from all walks of life participated in the exchange onsite or online. Representatives of the National People's Congress (NPC) and the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), as well as members of the Legislative Council, took the stage and interacted with the participants. In addition, Mr. Henry Tan, Dr. Kennedy Wong Ying-ho, Ms. Maggie Chan Man-ki, Ms. Cally Kwong Mei-wan, Mr. Tommy Li Ying-sang, and Mr. Stanley Li Sai-wing were invited to share their views on the stage.

Mr. Brave Chan Yung, Hong Kong Deputy to the National People's Congress, Legislator, Vice Chairman of the DAB, and Chairman of the NTAS, stated that the Department of Justice's explanation would help address the Hong Kong community's concerns about the Bill. The Hong Kong community will be able to better understand how the Bill can help facilitate mutual judicial assistance between the Chinese mainland and Hong Kong, and thus resolve disputes between the two places more effectively.
