CR Capital Management successfully hosted the 13th Five-Year Strategic Review Meeting and the 14th Five-Year Strategic Planning Seminar in Shenzhen and Hong Kong on November 13 - 14, 2020. The participants included the management team of the Company, MDs of the funds, directors of different departments and representatives of key employees. The invited guests included Li Jian and Nie Zhuli from the Strategy Department of China Resources Group, and Zhang Junbin and Teng Kunyu from the Strategy Department of CR Capital.
Opening Remarks on the Strategic Planning Seminar
In the lead-in of the seminar, all the staff watched a documentary video about the training process of the senior management of the Group, which leaded to understanding of the significance of a corporate culture to the business development and breakthroughs of the Group, namely "To become equal and straightforward, practical and pragmatic, generate results with critical thinking and brainstorms". In the first presentation by an expert from Deloitte project team, he shared the development history and some business cases of leading private equity institutions in China and abroad. Then Carl Qin, General Manager of the Company delivered a speech on the vision of the "Thirteenth Five-Year Plan" Strategic Review Meeting and relevant work instructions.
Group discussion on the "Fourteenth Five-Year Strategic Plan"
In the discussion session of this Action Learning style seminar, the participants were divided into five groups, to hold in-depth discussions on various topics, including SWOT analysis of the "14th Five-Year Plan" for CR Capital Management, performance and competency assessment, core competitiveness, overall strategic positioning, industry positioning, regional positioning, resource allocation, management and control mode, value creation mode, etc.
Report by each group and peer review
After a full-day of brainstorming on the second day, representatives from the five groups took turns to report their results of discussion. After one group delivered the report, the other two groups gave feedback on multiple dimensions with "Emerald Hat" and "Black Hat" perspectives.
GM's Remarks
In the end, Carl Qin, General Manager of the Company delivered a closing speech of the meeting. Mr. Qin concluded that the participants had utilized the Action Learning tools effectively in the seminar, kept their discussions focused on the key points with problem-oriented approach, and offered productive suggestions and proposals, which contributed to some positive results of the first stage work of the Company's "14th Five-Year Plan". He hoped that each team would carry out further research work in benchmarking competitors, on top of existing achievements, and continuously improve their research and discussions, so as to provide strong support for preparation of the Company's "14th Five-Year" Strategic Plan and Business Plan in a scientific way.
